I taste a pastry never baked—
From ovens made of gold—
Not all the kilns of Paris
Yeild such a taste Divine!

Epicurean of Symphonies — am I —
And Conosseiuer of crescendo —
Floating — through endless concert halls—
On arcs of reedy oboe —

When “Ushers” turn the final listener
Out of the woodframed door —
When pianists — renounce their keys —
I shall but taste the more!

Till Composers swing their well-worn Notes —
And Directors — to concerts hurry —
To see the little Baker
Tasting the first — Melody —

The author's comments:
This is an imitation of an Emily Dickinson poem known as "I taste a liquor never brewed"

I love how it changes from a pastry to a melody, and it all relates!

Love isn't always fireworks. Sometimes love just comes softly.

That was really cool. As a musician myself, as well as a lover of music, I can relate. it has great imagery, and leaves a lot to the reader's imagination, which i like. great job!
