Beaten By The Game
You’re choking me,

 My screams muffled

 By your pillow which smothers

The sound of the rain on

 Tin roofs as well.

 With nothing left to grasp

 I lose control

 I’ll be suppressed

 As I’m suffocated,

 I’m ashamed

 Once consciousness is gained,

Once these breaths can draw more

Air than the shallow ones still

Cornered in rooms which you lay,

I will be at liberty to walk

 Don’t let me go of

 These restraints

‘Till you know for sure it’s

 What’s desired.

 I’ll hang on till scars

 Waste away

 I won’t forget it’s

 Your love that

 Did this to me.
