Band Aid
Even though I know I’ll regret it,
I rip off the band aid,
And let you scar me again.
Even though I know I’ll cry,
When I smell you cologne lingering in my hair,
I let you kiss my head anyway.
Even though I know I can’t have you,
I let you wrap your arms around me,
 Making my cheeks flush.
 And when you’re gone again,
 The regret washes over me,
And I seal the band aid over my heart,
Knowing it’s only a matter of time,
 Before there’s nothing left.
