Box after box
I toss in my possessions.
Limb by limb
I peal away my obsessions.

Truck after truck
I fill with my life.
Leaving so fast
cuts like a knife.

Hug after hug
we all say goodbye.
The tears form big
as I start to cry.

Post after post
I get farther away.
This is the point
where I wish I could stay.

Then I roll over
the alarm clock screaming.
This was all a relief
I was just dreaming.

The author's comments:
I was forced to choose between living with my sister or my parent's because I don't like living with my parent's but I love living with my friends... So this is a poem inspired by that situation. In case you were wondering, I decided to stay living at home.

I love my past. I love my present. I’m not ashamed of what I’ve had, and I’m not sad because I have it no longer...
