Do you remember when MAG

we were little and unaware
smiling and carefree
small and thin
skin and bones
elbow to elbow
silly and strange
pink toenails
wet hair, wet towels
understanding
and in love with life
with the air
and the birds
and their music
and the flowers
and the fear of bears
around every corner
do you remember when
your parents were together
and fighting was normal
and you had an old cat
and a dog our age
and some fishies
do you remember when
I knew you both
and thought we'd always be close?
Because I don't
