My father a figure I never had
Just wanted to be loved by the person I knew as my dad
Left me feeling insecure and incomplete
How could you have done that to me
After years of rejection I did whatever just to fit in
Stole from a store so she would stay my friend
Had numerous relationships
They all had my heart
Took me for granted and tore me apart
Cried daily it seemed as if it eased my pain
I continued to fight but I knew they would never change
A beautiful person is who I've come to be
Once upon a time I couldn't imagine the word "beauty" being part of me
Criticized for years cause I was bigger than most
Cried myself to sleep while trying to cope
Overcoming all that pain has made me stronger and wiser as I stand today
