The Wanderer
The Wanderer steps
 through ice-coated paths,
 Balances cautiously,
 slips through the snow.
 Soft worn boots
 pick their thoughtful way,
 Brush against the skin
 of the timid ground.
 The Wanderer strides
 through fire-ridden pits,
 Leaps dauntingly,
 races through the flames.
 Rough coarse soles
 ramble worthlessly along,
 Scrape against the furrows
 of the seething, angry earth.
 The Wanderer wanders
 Through he** in all forms,
 Seeking absolution,
 Seeking freedom.
 Tender pads of feet
 uncover unexpected pain
Latched with sorrow along the route
 of the ill-fated journey.
