Once your end was due,
I took your heart, and, once it bloomed, I took every little seed,
And made a hole for you.
I planted each one carefully
With well regard to hue.
Then, blushing like a ruby,
Shining like one, too,
I waited a millennia,
‘Till, from the ashes, grew another, lovelier you.
