Some say love will steal your crown,
bleed your heart, break you down.
Some lovers quarrel,
some make it through,
but which will be for me and you?
The one who makes my head spin 'round,
and lifts my feet high from the ground,
who stops my breath and speeds my heart,
and closes that which distance parts.
Slash and burn these concrete fears.
Beat down these woesome, lonesome tears.
My love is not that which easily comes.
The cautious rain through darkness drums.
Beat by beat, a warriors chant,
onward march and breathless pant.
The heart in my chest 'til blood run dry..
The breath in my lungs that keep me alive.
Make me lust and crave and call,
make me love, make me fall.
Bend my halo, steal my crown;
take me baby, break me down.

The author's comments:
Guys call it "The thrill of the chase," Women say "Screw the chase; get off your a** and catch me already!" I'm only 19, so needless to say I'm a little wild. I love my crazy friends and the things we manage to get into. And as for my love life.. I suppose 'crazy' pretty much covers that too. I'm picky when it comes to boyfriends. I refuse to settle because I believe Mr. Right-For-Me is out there somewhere. And I don't believe any women should settle; it makes our men lazy. I want breathless, I want butterflies, I want broom action (ya know... sweeping a girl off her feet) the whole nine. Mr. Right-For-Me must must must be able to, not only keep up with me, but break me down. The remaining question is, how long is it going to take him to get OFF his a**?
