I dare you to look
I dare you to look and see what I saw
Look into the eyes of a child and there you will see
A fear of the past, present, and future
 Complete contentment in their circumstances
Trust they will be provided for
 A joy that is unspeakable
 Pleasure in the little things
A simple object taken for granted by many
Can be a treasure to them
Look into the eyes of a child and there you will see
 An innocence that causes jealousy
A purity that keeps the world simple
A desire to learn and understand
But a mind that can only just comprehend
A love that has no attachments
 Adoration for flawed people
Confusion that does not need to be settled
Look into the eyes of a child and there you will see
 The way we should act
 The way we should trust
 The way we should love
The way our world should be
The way our world needs to be
Unfortunately as the years pass us by the innocent become corrupted
I dare you to look and see what I saw
