I Fake A Smile
He says my name
 I fake a smile
 To hide the pain
Then wait until I get home to start the rain

 His eyes twinkle
 Then my eyes sprinkle
To face the fact that he is not mine
Seems to me to be a crime

 Only I see him
 She doesn't
 She sees just the face
But I see under the mask

That he listens to metal and rock
That his heart has been sealed with a lock
 He has his problems
 He shows it too

He talks to me about the perfect tomboy
One that sees the real him
 Someone he can enjoy
One who won't make him a toy

 That he is fragile
 And needs care
For him to be their teddy bear

 He is blind
 He can't see
 That it is me
That it is me who is always on his mind

 That I fake a smile
 To hide the tears
