Wealth without work
Pleasure without conscience
Science without humanity
Knowledge without character
Politics without principle
Commerce without morality
Worship without sacrifice.”

It was all a lie, I know.
Things come fast and then leave slow.
Next time when you come, I won't shed a tear.
Since thanks to you I have none left, just fear.
Fear that I'm not over the pain in my heart.
Fear that maybe I'm just not that smart.

So please, next time say it to my face.
I'll remember before the attack to brace.
Next time, don't make me feel small.
Next time, don't say you loved me at all.

When you're with her, you won't remember me.
You won't remember what I had shared with thee.
When you're with her, you'll do it again.
And she too, will no longer be your friend.

Something I found in my journal that I wrote when I was rather upset about a break-up that well...didn't go so well.
