We live among the shadows,
They surround us every day.
And if we dare to break free of them,
We end up pushed away.
But she is the fire in the shadows,
A brilliant, unavoidable sight.
The shadows cannot hold her,
For she is made of light.

A short, simple poem inspired by my friend doodling the Chinese characters for "Fire in Shadow" all over my paper. Enjoy!
