I am from big dreams of double wides and Jim Walter Homes

I am from a wired combination of the monkeys and Jimi Hendrix

I am from Carl's auto Garage and Clagget's connivance store

I am from an evil moody step-mother

From Late night Johnny Carson

The replacement of Jack Parr

I am from Fire Balls and Bazooka Bubble Gum

I am from milk gravy and fried apples

I am from President Kennedy's parade on Dale Marbly Ave.

The week before he died

I am from perseverance

And the courage it takes to break the chain

This piece was inspired by my mother's childhood, and what was going on at that time. It also says a lot about the courage it took for her to leave a small town and go to college.
