running-water silver and spray-paint gold


ROARING TOWARD ME
down,

down,

tilt your paper now
thousands of shining little eyes on the nighttime hillside


ROARING TOWARD ME
a city glitterfall.

The author's comments:
One night in the car, I looked up at all the lights on the black hillside near my home, and they reminded me of how a preschooler tilts the excess glitter off his sticky construction-paper craft.
