Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
~Pablo Picasso

To the dead I would say
Please come back to me someday
Wuthering ash and threaded bone
I pray you sing again, this I own
Animated vignettes, episodes of the next life
You're laying down, no more strife
This world we live in, a concoction of memories

The captions on our mirrors
Or the caps on our Cokes
Our world will implode
Then burst into smoke
Hollowed trees with singed branches
Frame our silhouette on the wall
Time to light the matches

It was love at first light
An explosion of color
It's our turn to take flight
And trade our lives for another

To the dead, I pray to thee
Won't you please speak to me?
I am no gypsy, no fortune teller, no oracle of any kind
Your bones of hardened stone are quiet and still
As I listen
And wait for a thrill

Isn't it ironic? We ignore the ones who adore us, adore the ones who ignore us, love the ones who hurt us, and hurt the ones that love us.

Chilling, but I must say, amazing. I love the wordind and the phrasing. It's almost lyrical really.
