How does the light find me
Even though I hide in the shadows?

I walk with Lucifer
Bow down to the Devil
Still

Smiles warm me
Compassion stains me
Love sneaks its way into my heart

I shove the feelings away
In a cold dark cellar in my heart
Where it can rot
Starve

But to no avail

Light can shine on any shadow
Break the shell of every hating heart
Sing above the hardening notes
That is why I decided to dart


Hide in the background
Silent under hopeful eyes
Living to stay away from life
Leaving

But to no avail

Light blinds me
Engulfs me
Makes me wish to breathe
Be sorry for a gray sky

There cannot be good without evil
Love without pain

No one ever said life’s balancing act was ever sane
