Survivor

The only one still standing,
I am the only survivor
Of that great storm’s fury.
All around me there lies
The rubble and ashes
Of what used to stand by my side.
Left all alone
Without a friend in the world,
Here I stand in the place once called home.
I’ll make a new life.
Not giving up, I will go on.
My wings aren’t broken; I can still fly.
