Yellow are the stars shining so bright,
Yellow is the sun bringing in light.

Yellow are the flowers you see down below,
Yellow are the bananas that smile and say hello.

Yellow are the candles lit in the dark,
Yellow is the dog that screams “bark, bark.”

Yellow are the fish that swim all day,
Yellow are the bees that don’t stop to play.

Yellow is the flame that runs through the night,
Yellow is the popcorns buttery delight.

Yellow are Daffodils and Daisies so tall,
Yellow is the valley bewildering them all.

Yellow is the dress worn by my mother,
Yellow are the children who come out in the summer.

Yellow are lemons and honey so sweet,
Yellow are the seashells drifting under your feet.

Yellow is the taste of mustard on your shirt,
Yellow is the burn that doesn’t seem to hurt.

Yellow are the grandmas who are always sewing,
Yellow are the fireflies whose tails don’t stop glowing.

Yellow are the children who come out to play,
Yellow is the choir that sings “hip hip hooray!”

Yellow are the buns sitting under the sun,
Yellow are butterflies having so much fun.

Yellow is the sun shining down on the beach,
Yellow is the color that brightens your cheeks.

So now you ask, what is yellow?
Yellow is a fellow waving hello.
