Snow Globe
Snow globe
 A sphere of glass
 Look into it
 You shall see the past
 Or present
 Whichever it be
 The glint of my reflection
 Stares back at me
 The image of me
 On the edge
 Of an entire world
 Captured
 So I can see
 Something about its fragility
 Makes me want to
 Destroy the little city
 Shatter glass
 Against ground
 So I can save
 A drowning town
 From flurries of snow
 Rising Water
 Being shaken around
 The day the globe fell
 A mirrored pool
 With pieces of snow
 Surrounded my feet
 My proud reflection
 faced me
 I saved a despairing city
 From its picturesque captivity
Mom rushed in to scold me
 But I saved
 An entire world
 I say
 Don’t move an inch
 You might step
 On glass
 Was her reply
 The moment stays with me
 Though I may
 Never understand why.
