Friendship In The Dark
The darkness that pulls at my heels
Has been tightening its grip for quite some time
 Inching me closer and closer.
Before I can scream for help
 I’m silenced.
 After the moon has set,
 Before the sun has risen,
These are the hours when it is strongest,
When all control I have is lost.
I am willed by only what it tells me I want.
It is the best liar I have known
As before long, I too believe
That this is truly something I want.
This is our little secret, like a forbidden friendship.
We meet in the dead of night
To say hello and remind the other
That we still have each other.
