You said you loved me
You said you cared
But then you left me standing,
Alone and scared
You said you were protecting me
But you weren't here
Not knowing your hugs
only fear.
I was so young
You should have known
But instead of me on your shoulders
You slung a gun
I was only 5
You will never walk me down the aisle
or teach me to drive
You will never yell at me to do the dishes
Or cuddle with me when i"m scared
Now you're gone
Gone
Forever.

my friend lost her father in the Iraq war this is fr her and her family she actually stated crying when she saw it he died when she was only 55 :(
