On the Ice

For My Arm
It was winter
the air was cold
skating around the ice
slippery
as
jello
My mom was watching
a camera in hand
as I was skating
with my good friends
Follow
the
leader
around the ice
into the middle
twirling and spinning
SNAP
my mom took the picture
then I leaped in the air
and down I went
My weak left arm
took the fall hard
two broken bones
and lot’s of tears
