Me.
i’ll paint my nails
thinking it’s important,
thinking that it matters
if my nails are chipped
or as if it were important
if my nail polish
wasn’t the right shade
of red
for the fourth of July
i’ll do it all
if it makes a difference
and it doesn’t
so maybe I’ll paint
my nails purple
for the fourth of July.
