Terrified eyes
darting
back and forth,
side to side.
Palms, slick with
nervous
sweat.
Quick!
Rub them off!
Trembling lips
dare not move,
dare not smile,
frown,
speak.
Vocal chords broken,
deadened.
The soul of a
teenage
girl.
