battlefield
The first to go was my own thought
 The second was my heart
I had lost all that I was taught
 You have torn me apart

You blew right through my chest
With every blow I grow weak
You assured me you were the best
With my mouth I can not speak

 You took me from myself
 I was yours to take
 Please free me from yourself
 For my own sake

 Love is a battlefield
And it is tough to let go
 When someone has you sealed
 It is hard to grow

In to who you know you are
And who you’re supposed to be
 So let your wounds scar
Open your eyes, you will see

This should not be a war
Or a battle to speak your mind
Your heart should not be sore
 Just two hearts intertwined
