"I heard a preacher say recently that hope is a revolutionary patience; let me add that so is being a writer. Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up."
— Anne Lamott (Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life)

caressed by gentle blue sand
softly flowing over my body
a relentless balm

might I capitulate

to goodness

of almighty healing

I shall be forever salved
of my impure intentions

Guided by the burning light
one small droplet
through all blackness

I will keep walking

My dictionary and
motive to coninue

strong so I may not fall

back into void of
darkness

ever empty...
But pouring into my soul
Cleansing my soiled crevices

and begrudged secrets

held so greedy

I am filled heavy so I may not float away
gentle blue sand in my heart.
