Faded Signatures

Lose me in the shadows of the life you used to live
Remember me by the oh so familiar smell
You say that is my signature
But yet, my true signature has faded away
Now let me refresh that summered mind of yours
Signatures, are those things that make a person who they are
Its how people know that person
How they are seen in others eyes.
And let me tell you that my signature faded the moment you walked away
It left in your shadows of that “used to be” life
You were my signature
You’ve faded away
