Corner of loving beggars
spending the half-pennies
on wishes and dreams
that the fairy died
to make true
little do they know
how crowded the corner will be
how cupid and Aphrodite herself
will make space for themselves
on this corner of beggars
begging and losing their wits
for one last chance at love they'd
heard of in stories
