"Beware, so that his shadow cannot burden your sleep with horrible nightmares." - Nosferatu, 1922

Hours pass on bloody fences
The hours last and cloud the senses
Bound and beaten, and left to rot
Found defeated, and hated for naught

A little love was sent away
Belittle, shove, and maybe slay
Such a boy to be afraid
No touch, destroy, a love betrayed

Wrapped in ace to hide a heart
Trapped in place, a fresh new start
Threats of silence, raped again
Ends of violence, a sorry trend

I wrote this poem as an ode to Matthew Shephard, Lawrence King, and Brandon Teena.
