My Stars
Stars,
The bright beaming balls of fire.
Take me away to a far away place.
Sitting on the damp grass staring up into space
The shinning stars remind me of better times
When things were peaceful.
The only objects that shine forth
In the gaping hole of darkness
That is the night sky.
Stars are like small sparkling flashlights in the sky
Leading people home.
Smog fills the sky
People burn plastic
Pollutants are being let off
In the wonderful air.
The precious stars slowly disappear.
The beaming little flashlights are too weak
To break through the big cement barrier of fog
That humans have created.
Please clear away the smoke
And let me see my stars.
