Lost in the Mail
My love for you was lost in the mail,
 And with no return address,
 I couldn’t know that
 You hadn’t received it.
 Painstaking sentiments carefully penned
 Would never reach you,
 And I will be forever
 Waiting for the postman
 To bring returned feelings.
Is this what unrequited love feels like?
But, you may share my emotions yet,
 Except I will never know
Because my love was lost in the mail.
Unforeseen complications and miscommunications and bad situations
Have turned us into star-crossed lovers
Whose trust in the postal service
 Has been betrayed for
 Our letters have gone astray
And you will never know how
My love for you was lost in the mail.
