Eyes wild
Heart frantic
Blood pounding
She wakes in the night.
Naught but a dream, Kate.
Close your eyes
Slip out of conciousness.
Pain and terror
Scratching at her window
Begging to be let in
Oh, Kate, just a branch.
The screams of the damned swirl
Screeching just outside her window
Begging to be joined.
Oh, Kate, merely the wind.
Tuck yourself in
Close your eyes
Tune out your fear.
Breath heady
Wicked blade gleaming
Her shrieks pierce the silent night
No one comes to investigate
The fate of Fearful Kate.
