Don’t cry for me

They won’t hurt me again
I’m stronger now
Than I was back then

I love you mommy
No matter what
And I just want you
To know that much

I love you mommy
I won’t let go
And I’m trying real hard
Just to let it show

That I’m finally trying
To just be me
And I love you mommy
Please don’t cry for me

And mommy when you see me
Struggling so hard
Don’t help me in the struggle
Just let me do my part

And when I really
Need your help
All that I ask is that you
Listen to me

I love you mommy
And daddy too
I’m glad you had me
I love you too.

The author's comments:
i've seen my mom cry many times for my sake. some good, some bad. i don't want to see my mom cry because she is sad because of my choices. that's what inspired this piece

it always seems as if we disappoint our parents when we try to just live and be ourselves. :( and sometimes when you see others weak, you can't help but feel weak yourself.

Wow, I think we're clones or something. My mom is always crying too. My stepdad doesn't cry though. But the only difference is, is that she's trying to convince me to not weaken for her
