My Room MAG
My room is just a room
Until I press power, hit play
 Turn it up louder
The frames on my bookshelves shake
 Now it's loud enough
 Add stomps, claps, snaps
 Voice
 Jump and yell
Shout back at the 10-year-old speakers
 I'm louder
No other sound than the music
 No hurtful, intruding, annoying voices
 Knock at the door
 Question?
 Answer in song
Close that door at the end of a measure
Suck my sounds, my drums, back in
 It's a vacuum, nothing escapes
It just fills up, until sound is lapping at the ceiling
 Turn it up one more
 Now it's a tank and I'm floating
 Nothing but chords and choruses
 Holding me up
 I can move freely
 In my own sound
 Now this room is mine
