Learning to write is like riding a bike,
shaky, while you balance and stay within the lines.
Little like your training wheels,
you begin with little words,
with more practice the better it feels,
gaining confidence in both worlds.
Suddenly you are on your own,
and discover writing is a joy,
like riding your bike all alone.
Simple sentences grow longer,
like the distance you cover makes you stronger.
You struggle at first to write at length,
like riding up a hill in need of strength.
You don’t give up and continue to give it your best.
You make it to the top and see you’ve passed the test.
