"The fiend in his own shape is less hideous than when he rages in the breast of man" - John Hawthorne

I open my eyes and see the darkness closing in on me

I close my eyes and see nothing but light

I close my eyes and see all that i want

I open my eyes and see what little i have

I close my eyes and see that which I desire most

I open my eyes and watch her walk crisply away from me

I close my eyes and see the future I want

I open my eyes and the cold harsh reality sinks in

I close my eyes and see happiness, if that's even possible

I open my eyes and, looking through the reflective glass,I see

me

um, well i was sick at home(strep throat) and had a lot of time to think. This poem is not a direct reflection of my life, but some parts are connected to it, if that makes sense.

life had i loved the more
had it but passed away
as quietly as the day
ebbs from the darkening star.
