My Gifts
My gifts.
What are my gifts?
Am I supposed to climb to the tops
And yell off of the highest cliffs?
Maybe I should stand on stage
And tell jokes to make people laugh.
Would I be all the rage?
Maybe I should sing.
Oh, the joy I would bring!
Should I, could I teach about God?
I don’t think so; not yet at least.
Maybe I should move away to Cape Cod.
Just for a while to think a bit.
Where, oh where do my gifts fit?
What can I do with my life?
Maybe I shouldn’t understand quite yet.
God has a plan for me.
It’s probably not time for the revelation I bet.
I do not know what I am supposed to do.
The time is not quite here,
But what if I miss the chance when it appears?
Oh, well.
God knows all about me,
Especially my gifts.
