Your voice calms
Accent tipping the words gently
Emotion swirls through
I listen as my words
Become so much more
Through your voice
Tears fill my eyes
Thoughts run disjointedly
Through my head
How the words could be better
Arranged differently
But it doesn’t matter
In your voice
They are perfect
Nothing could be changed
Because they were written for you
I know that now
My fingers tingle
Knowing I wrote for you
From the bottom of my heart
Smile spreads across my face
You make me laugh
I give my words to you

The author's comments:
A very close friend of mine was reading some poems out loud to me that I had written about him. These were my thoughts while he was reading. He's from Guatamala if you want to know what kind of accent it is.
