Shame MAG
Curtains open
 stage flooded with light,
 face white

 with fear
 of failing.
 Knees weak and
 shaking.
 Stomach doing flips …
 Nausea begins.

 Voice is lost in
 the crowd of faces
 waiting,
 expecting,
 laughing.
 Wonder when this will
 end.
 Curtain closes.
 Muscles tightened

  with anger,
  and

  shame.
