I empty out my thoughts of today
As I stare at the sky
As it crashes into the earth
What a beautiful skyline
I hope it lasts forever
But we all get old
Mortality is a virtue
Nothing stays gold
A blissful scene
A wonderful reverie
Moments in life
Fade into a memory

I watch the sand hit the water
And watch it wash away
Just like my thoughts
Of a million yesterdays
Tomorrow is just another day
That resembles a wave
That takes you away
From the shore of which you came

The future is a desolate night sky
The present is too eager to stay
Here’s to the past.
