Beach under moonlight

The moonlight was but a ribbon,
Pale silver in the sky.
The waves were crashing gently,
The seagulls soaring high.
Smooth ripples of water,
Dampening the sand,
Gentle ripples of water,
Dividing sea and land.
The stars shone bright like diamonds,
Glittering in the night sky.
The stars shone light like diamonds,
Glimmering in the dark sky.
The beach is dark and empty,
Silent to my ears.
The beach is quiet, but I know
That daylight will soon be here.
