The old lady sits on the living room couch.
All around her, the light is dimming,
As the sun goes down.
But the lady doesn't notice.
She doesn't smile or frown.

The front door opens,
And in tumbles a young girl.
The lady's eyes show no change.
And the girl doesn't bother with hello's.

All around the lady,
The house is now bustling.
Pots and pans rattling in the kitchen,
The dog barking,
A child shouting in play.

But they don't bother with the lady.
And she just stares off into space,
As her mind continues to blanken.
And her family continues to forget,
The person she once was.
