What's in love?
Why does it control us so?
Why do we succomb?
Why can't we mortals resist
the passion,
the need,
the addiction to something
such as love?

Why?
When all it does is leave us
shattered and lifeless.
All it does is seduce our soul
into it's unbreakable grasp
only to crack open our protective
carapace and leave us
with nothing but an
empty shell.

Why?
Because we have to hope.
We have to believe.
We have to have a faith in something greater,
something more powerful than
God himself.
Because we must stay strong
to our dreams.
We must hold true
to our childhood fantasies of
freedom, beauty, truth, and love.
We must be able to tell
our stories of our undying love
for one another.

Our lives forever entwined
together.
That's the key word isn't it?
Together.
Forever.
Til death do us part.
But if it is of the most myhtical and sought after loves,
known as true love,
then the passion will continue
beyond death
beyond the furthest reaches of the universe.
It will live on forever,

That is why we love.
