"Just because you get older doesn't mean you have to act that way."

Sinking lower
in the dirt,
your top of the line coffin
can't heal the hurt.

The void grows
within my chest
as you are lain down
in your final rest.

No tears I cry.
So silently I stand
as the ghost of you caresses
the palm of my hand.

Nevermore will I see
your smiling face.
My heart slows down
to barely a pace.

Your lifeless body
lays powdered and pure.
Although there was the money,
there wasn't a cure.

There is no rhyme
for this killing disease.
I can only pray to God,
"Please, please."

The doctors gave you
a year and a half.
Little did I know,
that would be our last laugh.

The chemo took it's toll,
leaving you powerless and weak.
The cancer came back and
all I could do was stroke your cheek.

Now looking back
at the years we had
gleeful memories haunt me
and erase the sad

I will always love you
even after years have passed.
Although our time together
couldn't last.
