- What Matters
I remember when the leaves started changing color,
when my life rearranged itself-
when I began my search for more.
I remember when I found myself among friends
who laughed, who cried,
who held onto the moments in which we all felt alive.
I remember when I looked into the eyes of a friend-
saw deeper than just his surface,
felt more than I could comprehend.
I am remembering how the seasons passed by with such ease,
filled with an intensity-
Like nothing else I’ve ever known…
if you only looked, you would see.
I remember those car rides, windows down,
with the air- warm and thick,
the sweet breeze sending chills,
with the perfect playlist.
I will forever remember the passion I knew…
the craving for happiness,
Finding love pure and true.
