Things That Kill
Butter is lightning on the toast
So smooth and slick,-eyes couldn’t see
 I, my wooden box afloat
And your steel miles beneath the sea
 I’m yellow under the sun
 My intentions melt to paste
That river doesn’t quench my thirst
Because the water runs in place
I’m a lover of your wings
I shot you down from the sky
You thought pain was a form of love
But the truth made your bruises cry
Now that you realize the truth
You and all your wounds are running
You may know my every move
But you cannot see me coming
I drank from your tainted liquid
I licked clean your wretched plate
 You’re decomposing in my spit
Your life is frozen on my face
I tore you down from the sky
I was strong and I was bold
In the ocean I was found
 Bleeding out your chemicals.
