Articulate educational prospects
Blacklisted and only insisted to their own form of control
And now there is zero
Slack
Or room to take back
Personality or Bureaucracy
When they’ve already established separation of
Self and State
Plagiarizing minds and
Tyrannical new plights
Placing individualism
On levels unseen
Because they are too far under
“Intelligent standard”
An intellectual hampering of originality
And nobody seems to care
That the scales have tilted as far as they have
An expression of our,
In a perfect society,
Lack of expression
Because the thing about compensation is that
Hypocrisy becomes prevalent
In catching back up
The same catching up that our comprehension of
This future problem must pursue
Where it has become uncool
To discuss with out emancipating jests
Or converse between entertainment of thought
A consistent dumbing down
Not of material, but of communication
Trading conceptualism and creativity
For an unmotivated breeze of square roots and geometric functions
Unkept by our jaded American minds
The shining silhouettes of a technical generation
Unable to publicly show true ideal
Because we were never taught social technique
Or finess when we speak
Replaced by social networking
And electronic, 8-bit apathy for any form of art not digital
The consummation of our catch up for math and science
And for what?
An international war that will result in
Intellectual stalemate
A Purgatory of wishing
To be able to communicate and express
Without the help of wireless routers or TI-83’s
The direct route of oppression to blooming American thinkers-
And I’m not even Catholic
Whitman, Emerson, Thoreau
Forgotten in sinusoidal white noise
Simon, Steinbeck, Eliot
Derived to equal an insignificant
Congregation of
Two or three credits
Maybe
Equality
Democracy
Can’t be spread in binary code or periodic tables
And not to demean our technical advances,
But whose asymptote will we have to kick to bring
Equality back into our schools?
Like broken resolves and pop-culture tools
Taking the censorship of our minds lying down
And without a sound
America will slowly become another brick in the cliché
Fighting to establish a way to just solve
A presentation of our ideas
To our international peers
Where we will sleep on the
Same levels as other countries
All with lost stock in technology
And a generation of lost ideas a struggle to compensate for previous compensation

But you can’t spell compensate without a pen

This piece is a response to the vehement push in public schools for math and science, often alienating the liberal arts.
