Anything Like You
I may sleep the day away
 getting lost in dreams
 about a different place
 full of brights colors.
 where life is perfect
and not a tear is shed.
 I may stay in bed
 until I feel is right
 after working a long week,
 making money for myself,
 because you, yourself,
 can't hold a job
so I at 19, must live
 only for myself.
 so you get up
 after drinking all week
 and do a little work
and then go out and drink again.
I do a favor for you,
 and you once again
 turn into my father
 and just talk nonsence.
 I not wanting
to be around a person like that
just sit in my room and listen,
 to you...talking about me.
I may not be the person
 you want me to be
 and I may not do
the things you want me to do
but at least I am trying in life
 and at least
I'm not going to turn out
 to be anything like you.
