Block it Out
So simple.
Plain, white, with one sole purpose.
They’re meant for music, shows, entertainment.
They’re meant to give you something to do, something to hear, something to watch.
That’s not what I see.
That tiny white piece in my ear,
I see calm, silence, peace.
Something to block it out,
Block out the world, everything holding you back.
They’re seen as simple,
But are truly complex.
The thing that heals, hurts, and simply numbs.
They can bring joy, sadness, and peace,
with just the click of a button.
One little click. A whole world within.

This poem uses an everyday object as a metaphor for silence and escape. I wanted to show how something small can create an entire world inside your head.
